Covid-19 testing available in Zihuatanejo

Traveling during the pandemic is a difficult and for many an impossible proposition. While we don't want to be in the position of trying to convince anyone to travel right now we want to let those of you who do decide to travel that there are options in Zihuatanejo for the testing that the U.S. and Canadian governments require for those returning from international destinations. The Mexican government is making testing available inside the Zihuatanejo international airport. Prices are 579 pesos for Antigen testing required by the U.S. government for returning and results can be obtained within 30 minutes. Mexican authorities are recommending that passengers arrive at least 3 hours prior to their scheduled departure to allow time for testing and results. Passengers may also go to the airport in the days prior to their departure and obtains testing beforehand. PCR testing will also be available and should be scheduled well in advance. Pricing can range from 2,500 pesos to 5,000 pesos depending on your urgency and location.
